first_imgDominion Energy moving forward with 498MW of new solar projects in Virginia FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailPrint分享S&P Global Market Intelligence ($):Dominion Energy Virginia announced Nov. 2 that it is planning to build nine solar farms in Virginia totaling 498 MW as a part of an effort to comply with the state’s new law that mandates 100% of electricity sales be sourced from clean energy by 2045.The projects are subject to approval by the State Corporation Commission. Dominion selected six of the projects, totaling 416 MW, through a competitive solicitation process, the utility said. The company issued a request for proposals in October, soliciting bids for small-scale solar projects up to 3 MW in size. The Dominion Energy Inc. utility is also working on soliciting large-scale solar, onshore wind and energy storage projects.Dominion will own three of the projects. It acquired the 20-MW Grassfield Sun Farm from Solar Access USA and Blue Green Energy LLC, the 20-MW Norge Solar Farm (Farmville Lane Solar) from Clearway Energy Group LLC, and the 42-MW Sycamore Solar project from a joint partnership of Open Road Renewables LLC and MAP Energy LLC.The newly acquired projects are currently under development. The solar projects could add under 20 cents to residents’ bills, which “will be offset in part by fuel savings,” Dominion said. The utility in its 2020 integrated resource plan said the typical residential bill will increase by about 3% on a compound annual basis over the next decade as it builds out more renewable resources.Dominion Energy Virginia, which operates as Virginia Electric and Power Co., on Oct. 9 issued a request for proposals seeking small-scale solar projects up to 3 MW in size. Another request for proposals seeking up to 1,000 MW of solar and onshore wind generation, as well as 250 MW of storage, is underway.[Justin Horwath and Usman Khalid]More ($): Dominion to build 9 new solar farms in Virginialast_img read more

This March, she read an article about treasury product fintech startup Autobooks, Detroit, in a newsletter for Michigan entrepreneurs and thought, “This is exactly what I’m looking for!”“I had kind of been doing things manually, creating and emailing invoices for customers and using PayPal for payments,” Deschamps recalls. “But Paypal was getting more expensive.”Autobooks handles both of these and more, but before discovering the startup, Deschamps reached out to her current financial institution for help. One of the large banks “had been my personal banking partner for my entire adult life,” says Deschamps. “When I opened my business, it just seemed like a natural transition to open my business account with them. A leading auctioneer says bidders should pay a deposit as part of their registration

first_imgAuctioneer, Justin Nickerson, thinks registered bidders should have to pay a deposit to be part of the auction action. Picture: Zak SimmondsAPOLLO Auctions director, Justin Nickerson, said registered non-bidders are damaging the auction process and should be charged a refundable deposit of $5000 to $10,000 as part of their registration. Mr Nickerson identified non-bidders as parties who register to bid, but never have serious intention of buying unless the property is, “practically given away.” “It’s misleading the seller and also other bidders because other bidders think they’ve got a certain number of people there to compete with when, in reality, that number is significantly less,” he said.Mr Nickerson said these participants don’t raise their paddle and aren’t really of the mindset to buy.More from newsParks and wildlife the new lust-haves post coronavirus23 hours agoNoosa’s best beachfront penthouse is about to hit the market23 hours ago“They just thinking, ‘I still want to feel part of the auction and feel like we’re doing something so let’s register,’” he said.Mr Nickerson said bidders need to take the registration process seriously because it’s the first step of a legal transaction to buy a property.“The money would be held by the agency and, if they were successful in buying the property, it would become their first deposit with the balance five or 10 per cent due,” he said.“I’m a big believer that for buyers it’s an advantage because they’ll know that anyone there who’s holding a paddle has financially invested to do that, which provides transparency — it also adds an extra layer of protection from ‘dummy bidding,’” Mr Nickerson said.Mr Nickerson said vendors have expectations based on registration numbers, so ensuring those registered are serious bidders helps sellers make good decisions. “It will improve the communication between the buyer and the agent and then the agent and the seller which is really what our industry is about,” he said.Follow Kieran Clair on Twitter at @kieranclairlast_img read more

Tottenham borrows £175m due to COVID-19

Spurs insisted the loan, which is due to be repaid in April 2021 at 0.5 per cent interest, “will not be used for player acquisitions” but said it would give the club “financial flexibility and additional working capital during these challenging times”.Spurs spent an estimated £1.2 billion on their new stadium, which opened last year, and they announced the refinancing of £525 million worth of debut with two banks last September. The club’s final five home matches of the season are now due to be played behind closed doors, with season ticket-holders being refunded, while Spurs are also facing revenue losses from the cancellation of a number of lucrative events at their stadium, including two NFL matches scheduled for Autumn.Among the other businesses to use CCFF are budget airlines Ryanair and EasyJet (both £600 million), John Lewis (£300 million), Rolls Royce (£300 million), ASOS (£100 million) and Greggs (£150 million), the Bank of England has announced.Spurs reversed their decision to use the government’s furloughing scheme for non-playing staff after a fierce backlash from supporters in April. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who has warned that clubs “big or small” could go out of business during the pandemic, said it was “imperative” to find a way to return paying supporters to events as soon as possible.“We have always run this Club on a self-sustaining commercial basis,” Levy said. “I said as early as 18 March that, in all my 20 years at the Club, there have been many hurdles along the way but none of this magnitude – the COVID-19 pandemic has shown itself to be the most serious of them all.”Tags: COVID Corporate Financing Facility SchemeCOVID-19Tottenham Hotspurlast_img read more

EPL: Red Devils attack Palace

first_imgMan United vs. Crystal Palace Venue: Old Trafford Kick off: 5:30PMManchester United get their 2020-21 campaign belatedly underway when they welcome Crystal Palace to Old Trafford this afternoon. Just over a month after their 2019-20 season finished in the Europa League semi-finals, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are back in competitive action a week later than most teams, including Palace, who began the campaign with a 1-0 win over Southampton.Even with the additional week afforded to those who reached the latter stages of Europe last season, this is a quick turnaround for a United side whose summer break will have lasted just one month and three days. The true significance of that may not been known in full until the majority of the season unfolds, but Solskjaer will know that his side needs to hit the ground running immediately.A third-placed finish last season means that their main goal for the upcoming campaign is to close the gap on the top two of Liverpool and Manchester City, as well as building on an encouraging second half of 2019-20.Indeed, the Red Devils begin their new season with the longest ongoing unbeaten streak in the Premier League, having ended last term on a 14-game run without defeat which stretches back to January. The form of the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood drew particular praise during that time, but there is still a feeling among fans that they need to strengthen more this summer. The transfer window began with understandable excitement as United were linked with a host of star names – most notably Jadon Sancho – but Donny van de Beek is the only new name through the door in time for the new season. The Red Devils appear to have missed out on Sergio Reguilon, Gareth Bale and Thiago Alcantara to Premier League rivals, while the Sancho saga rumbles on, and when you throw captain Harry Maguire and Greenwood’s off-field troubles into the mix as well, it has not been an ideal summer for the 20-time champions.Matters on the pitch could have been better too, with a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa in their only pre-season contest. The hosts will be favourites going into Saturday’s match, but they will also be wary of the fact that one of their two home defeats in the league last season came at the hands of this weekend’s opponents. That memorable Old Trafford triumph is the only time Palace have ever beaten United in the Premier League era, though, so if the Eagles are able to come away with a positive result again on Saturday then it would be an achievement of some significance.Roy Hodgson will certainly believe that his side can do it; they beat Southampton on the opening day of the season to get off to a winning start, despite the stats suggesting that away specialists Southampton went into the game as favourites.Star player – and former United winger – Wilfried Zaha is showing signs of getting back to his best after an underwhelming campaign last term, and the club appear to have addressed their lack of goals in 2019-20 by re-signing Michy Batshuayi on loan. The Chelsea man made his second debut for the Eagles in midweek but drew a blank as Palace were ultimately dumped out of the EFL Cup by Championship side Bournemouth following a remarkable penalty shootout.RelatedPosts Ighalo: My best moment as ‘Red Devil’ EPL: Crystal Palace stun sloppy Man U EPL: Gunners gun for West Ham scalp The first 20 spot-kicks went in before both keepers missed, and then Luka Milivojevic saw his saved after the order had come full circle as Bournemouth won the shootout 11-10 at the Vitality Stadium.Palace will have no fears about going back out on the road again, though; they won more away league games last season than both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal and will fancy their chances of causing United problems on the counter with their quick attackers.Manchester United possible XI: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Van de Beek, Pogba, James, Fernandes, Rashford, Martial. Crystal Palace possible XI: Guaita, Ward, Kouyate, Dann, Mitchell, Eze, McCarthy, McArthur, Zaha, Batshuayi, Ayew.Tags: Crystal PalaceEnglish Premier LeagueManchester UnitedOld Traffordlast_img read more

Mahaica wasn’t just second in the age-group category, she ended with 10 silver, after she was behind Persaud in each of her events.Persaud was in the 50m breaststroke (40.97s), 100m breaststroke (1:34.69s), 50m backstroke (36.31s), 100m backstroke (1:24.57s), 50m butterfly (32.40s), 100m butterfly (1:18.72s), 50m freestyle (30.59s), 100m freestyle (1:09.87s), 200m freestyle (2:36.04s), and 200m IM (2:57.03s)Silver Sharks’ Trumaine Cole prevailed with 72 points in the Boys’ 18-and-over category, finishing 39 points ahead of Olympian Hannibal Gaskin, who ended just one point above Earlando McRae.last_img read more

first_imgWith league wins over Liverpool and F-M secure, B’ville routed Henninger 25-7, 25-8, 25-12 on Wednesday night.Jenna Wallace got six aces and 12 assists to lead the Bees. Emma Legault and Taylor LaPage got a chance to shine, each with six kills. Brecht added four kills as she, along with Garvey and Kyrah Wilbur, had three aces apiece. After a rare Saturday without a tournament, B’ville goes to Victor this weekend after league matches against West Genesee and Corcoran,.Moving to boys volleyball, Baldwinsville had a strong start to its league slate, fighting hard in a 25-20, 28-26, 25-21 sweep over the Syracuse City team in last Tuesday night’s match.Dylan Bramble finished with seven assists, while John Morrissey served up four aces. Up front, Curtiss Hey had four kills, with Morrissey and Kristof Pawelek each getting three kills. Aidan Priest added two kills.Back home Thursday night, B’ville took on Oswego, and it turned into a classic, the Bees nearly surrendering a big lead before holding off the Buccaneers in five sets.A close first set went 27-25 in B’ville’s favor, and it also claimed the second set 25-21. Two points from a sweep, the Bees instead saw Oswego pull out the third set 26-24 and then add a 25-20 win in the fourth set to get even.In the final-set race to 15 points, B’ville barely won it, 15-12, over the Bucs as Carter Healey finished the night with 38 assists, many of the passes going to Priest, who put away 19 kills.Bradford Doubleday not only had nine kills, he recorded 13 digs as Hey and Ben Stisser both got seven kills, Stisser adding three blocks. For Oswego, Cole Pratt had 16 kills and Riley Mahoney had 15 kills, with Nathan DeVinny getting 39 assists. After going to the Victor Tournament on Saturday, B’ville’s boys challenge defending sectional champion Cicero-North Syracuse next Tuesday and face F-M on Thursday before a match against Canisius (Buffalo) at the C-NS gym Saturday afternoon. As for the girls Bees, it would take on West Genesee and Corcoran and then, next Saturday, head to its own tournament at Victor.Share this:FacebookTwitterLinkedInRedditComment on this Story Whether it was a letdown after an impressive Sept. 7 tournament win at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, or some other factor, the Baldwinsville girls volleyball team found itself trailing Fayetteville-Manlius early in last Monday’s SCAC Metro division match. In fact, the Bees nearly fell behind two sets before rallying to win in four over the Hornets,  but it was far from a sure thing.A series of mistakes by B’ville allowed F-M to grab the first set 25-23 and keep the second set close, too. But when the Bees recovered to win that set 25-22, it settled down. The next two sets each went 25-14 in B’ville’s favor as Summer McClintic put together a fine all-around performance, mixing in 13 assists with 11 kills.Jenna Garvey’s seven aces set the tone as she stayed on the back line to record 23 assists. Sophia Kordas earned 10 kills, while Brooke Clute had five kills and Margaret Dec had four k ills.Megan Brecht had three aces and nine digs, Clute and Alexandra Molini adding seven digs apiece. For F-M, Juliana Myagkota  managed 14 kills, with Nina Avery notching 10 kills and Kendra Broddus getting eight kills. Defensively, Morgan Napier notched 18 digs.center_img Tags: Baldwinsvillevolleyballlast_img read more
